Senior Programmer

Katherine Bloom is a Senior Web Designer at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), where she has been leading digital design and development initiatives since 2018. With over 15 years of experience in web design, system administration, and application development, Katherine brings expertise in creating accessible, user-centered interfaces that enhance patient and provider experiences across platforms.
Her career spans roles as a Drupal Developer at Unidesk and Kaspersky, a Web Designer at GLADworks, and an early foundation in web hosting and client support at Hit Catcher Web Hosting. She has a strong technical background in PHP, Ruby, Flutter, Kotlin, React Native, and is passionate about UX design, accessibility (A11y), mobile development, and infrastructure.
Katherine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Web/Multimedia Management and Webmastering from Johnson & Wales University and further training in Emergency Medical Technology from Quinsigamond Community College.
Beyond her professional work, Katherine is committed to designing inclusive, accessible digital experiences for all users and devices. She is also actively exploring opportunities in both the Boston area and Scotland, where she aspires to relocate within the next five years.
